Shipping & Receiving Assistant - Plymouth, MN ** NEW Opportunity**

Synopsis:

 Position Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Assistant is responsible for packaging and shipping outbound finished goods and LTL truck freight as directed by the shipping schedule and Site Coordinator. This position will receive and put away incoming truck shipments and assist in other areas of shipping and receiving as workload dictates.
 
Work Schedule: Full-time position, 1st shift (M-Th 9am-5pm & Fri 8:30am-4:30pm).  Overtime as business demands require.
Work Location:  2790 N Ranchview Lane, Plymouth MN

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all Company safety policies and safety procedures in order to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Follow all Company policies, rules and regulations.
  • Act as a professional representative of Wausau Coated Products, Inc. at all times.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, comparing size, weight, description and bar code numbers with information on shipping documents, packing lists and purchase orders.
  • Move inventory to various locations using forklift, pallet jack or hand cart.
  • Scan and store items according to established location scanning procedures.
  • Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical count periodically and check against inventory control totals.
  • Requisition additional supplies from the Purchasing Department, as needed.
  • Pick and verify accuracy of outgoing orders, auditing each shipment prior to loading to ensure that goods match the sales order.
  • Package and label product based upon established procedures and standards.
  • Prepare shipping and receiving documentation according to Company procedures.
  • Inspect incoming freight for damage.
  • Communicate effectively between shift hand-offs.
  • Continually demonstrate a productive and non-disruptive work ethic communicating with management regarding employee relations issues and safety concerns.
  • Work in such a way to create high-quality output with a continuing desire to learn new things and improve the efficiency of work processes.
  • Maintain Company equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly manner and notify management of any damage to equipment, product or other Company property.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in shipping and receiving or related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience with inventory control processes.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn Company-specific systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic office and business equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and interpersonal.
  • Ability to ask for help when needed, and willingness to learn.
  • Confidence and professionalism in representing the Company.
  • Willingness to be a team player and take direction from management.
  • Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment required.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working with FedEx, UPS and LTL.
