Product Coordinator *NEW Opportunity*

Synopsis: The Product Coordinator will support the success of our digital and converted products, working closely with the Product Manager. Responsibilities span strategic and tactical work, with the opportunity to grow into greater ownership over time. They include supporting the identification of key product gaps in the market and assisting in aligning new products to a make-to-stock program to drive scalable revenue growth in the distribution and industrial direct channel. Assist in consolidating customer needs and product gaps to help create economies of scale. Analyze product and market data to assist in recommendations for stocking levels and pricing. Shadow and participate in the stage gate process for new product development, including RFA management, pricing analysis, and sales forecasting. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, technical, and purchasing teams for the creation of catalog numbers, descriptions, price lists, and spec sheets. This individual is equally comfortable executing under direction or working independently, with the curiosity to ask the right questions and the drive to grow into a Product Manager role.

 Product Category Support

·         Support the Product Manager in identifying customer needs and product gaps in the market

·         Work closely with various internal functional teams to support the development, launch, and continual improvement of the company’s sheet product solutions through a stage gate process.

·         Understand and act as the voice of the customer through collaboration with the outbound sales team.

·         Assist the Product Manager in analyzing opportunities and contributing to product strategies and roadmaps.

·         Support a newly created “RFA process” focused exclusively on digital and converted products.

·         Partner with sales and marketing to develop category and product positioning, sales and marketing collateral, and training materials.

·         Coordinate with marketing throughout product launch, responding timely to any requests for analysis or product information.

·         Support development of pricing guidelines for all products, working cross-functionally with feedback from the sales team, customers, and market intel to inform profitable growth recommendations. 

·         Track product and category performance measures like product revenue and profit, quality, market share, inventory levels, and growth.

·         Monitor inventory stock levels to guide decisions around holding the right amount of inventory at the right locations.

·         Work in collaboration with the supply chain team to monitor sales vs forecasts.

·         Analyze product portfolio to monitor product life cycles and make recommendations for discontinuations.

 Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; internship or project experience in product, marketing, or category management a plus.
  • Exposure to premium labeling, packaging, and/or pressure sensitive products is desired.
  • Eagerness to learn Wausau Coated Products’ sales processes, systems, and product portfolio. 

Specific Skills, Licensure and Certifications

  • Ability to manage tasks and support multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfort with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI) and ability to present findings clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Strong problem solving, creative, and analytical skills with the ability to analyze business conditions and create actionable recommendations.
  • Self-starter who is equally comfortable working independently or executing under direction, with the curiosity to ask the right questions and the ambition to grow into a Product Manager role.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%-15% of time (1-2x/quarter for trade shows, customer visits).
  • Experience in printing and/or converting is desired but not required.
